The Finance Program Coordinator is responsible for completing financial and accounting processes as they relate to the various projects, financial data, budgets and donor reports. The Finance Program Coordinator is also part of the financial review team that evaluates compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Please note: you must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the Finance Program Manager
  • Run financial reports for Programs Dept. and Donor Services
  • Work with Programs to update reporting Matrix for all projects
  • Administrator for the accounting package with respect to project accounting
  • Ensure project budgets are entered into accounting system
  • Review Project budgets for submission to donors
  • Review Headquarter workpapers
  • Prepare various annual and quarterly registrations
  • Preparation of annual Form 990
  • Tasks as assigned for the annual audit
  • Review journal entries
  • Analysis on non-program costs
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Insurance policies: renewals, adequate coverage, application
  • Monitor and record inventory movement
  • Participate in the review of project activity with the programs department
  • Work closely with the field finance staff
  • Maintain controls over cash activity for projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Principles of Management, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Grant regulations, A-133, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong skills in analysis, reconciliation, problem solving, multi-tasking, organization with attention to detail, and communication (verbal, listening, written).
  • Competencies: Building external financial and management relationships; fostering teamwork and collaboration; analyzing economic and business issues; proposing innovative solutions; working independently and meeting established deadlines in fast-pace environment; employing strategic thinking and planning; having sensitivity to church and cultures; being results-oriented; being people-oriented; having a positive attitude.
  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting required;
  • Experience: 3-5 years relevant work experience (or combination of education/work experience), 2-3 years’ experience in financial accounting in the non-profit sector desired; 990 taxes, International and federal donors experience preferred.
  • Certifications: CPA license preferred
